Doha News recently conducted an exclusive interview with award-winning English film director, producer, and writer Guy Ritchie on the set of his latest spy action movie being shot in Qatar. The movie stars Hollywood superstars Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, and Cary Elwes,
and scenes were shot at the Museum of Islamic Arts against the backdrop of Doha’s iconic skyline. This was Ritchie’s first time shooting in Qatar, and he praised the country for its spectacular scenery, perfect weather, great hotel, and lovely people. The production team chose Qatar because they liked the look of it and wanted this part of the world for their movie.
Ritchie and Statham last released a film together 14 years ago but collaborated again last year on a movie that has yet to be released due to the COVID-19 situation. The two enjoyed working together so much that they decided to make a spy comedy movie that promises to be great fun.
