Sabut knows he has little chance of beating Brock Lesnar, but he still wants the chance to prove himself.

The 57-year-old ECW legend ended his in-ring career in 2021 due to a back injury. He is ready to change his mind, though, if a contest with The Beast Incarnate becomes likely.

In an interview with Title Match Wrestling, he discussed why he thinks Lesnar will be the best opponent for his final match.

Brock Lesnar would be my ideal opponent for my retirement match, said Sabu. “I like Brock, I adore Brock, but it’ll never happen. Even though I don’t even know him, I enjoy his work. His work appeals to me. He is unaffected by anything I do. I don’t do everything he does, and that’s what I want to do. Someone who won’t do my s**t is who I want to wrestle. [0:35-0:52]

Before working for WWE in 2006 and 2007, Sabu established himself in ECW. The high flyer is regarded by many as one of his generation’s most creative wrestlers.

At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Universal Championship without a challenge. The storyline had appeared to have finished at WrestleMania, but the former UFC fighter recently made a surprise appearance on SmackDown to face his enduring foe once more.

The Tribal Chief also Defeated Brock Lesnar in Last Man Standing Match at WWE SummerSlam this Year. Previously, Lesnar and Reigns squared off in the SummerSlam main event of 2018. On that occasion, the latter won, ending his opponent’s 503-day hold on the Universal Championship.
